“Turkey’s Anatolian Tigers”
Monday, November 5, 2012
Mr. Arthur Sculley
Senior Fellow, Center for Emerging Markets Enterprises,
The Fletcher School, Tufts University
Arthur Sculley has been living part time in Istanbul for the past year, doing research in Anatolia, Northern Iraq and Central Asia on the impact of trade and commerce on Turkey’s recent foreign policy. The Anatolian Tigers are local conservative businessmen and women who are working hand in glove with the Turkish government, creating new jobs and increasing Turkey’s exports and construction business in the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa. This trade is helping to offset the reduced trade to Turkey’s traditional export market, Europe. The lecture is based on first-hand interviews with the Anatolian Tigers and their counterparts in Northern Iraq and Central Asia and explains the importance of this relatively new business dynamic in Turkey.
Registration begins at 5:45pm
